Parting gift - Bush

As if George W. Bush hadn't done enough for this country, we learned today that he made illegal aliens with deportation orders a protected class. That's right, fugitive absconders who failed to report for deportation were granted special privileges in October of 2008.

The protection came in the form of "high-level approval" required before an ICE agent could arrest a fugitive.

So much for collateral arrests. It was like the 585,000 people running loose with outstanding deportation orders were suddenly granted amnesty.

Why would they do that? To protect Obama's aunt who failed to leave the country. And anyone else connected with the campaign who might have foreign skeletons in their closets.

The coup de grace of the whole affair is that the government sat on the freedom of information request for TWO MONTHS so it wouldn't spoil the election hype.

The more I read about Bush and the election, the more I'm convinced the GOP is lost. Bush actually helped Obama get elected.

The best quote from the AP:
"Despite the deportation order, Onyango traveled to Washington last week for her nephew's inauguration. News organizations observed her attending an inaugural ball at Washington's Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, a historic luxury hotel, with her immigration lawyer, Margaret Wong."
