Taken out of context

US Supreme Court, West Entrance. Themis and Justice (the tiny one wearing a blindfold).

So the spin from the left is that Sotomayor really isn’t culpable for her comments about being better qualified than white men because she is a "wise Latina."

They tell us that the speech was about discrimination cases and the audience was Latino.

Were the shoe on the right foot rather than the left, such comments would disqualify her from making any judgments in minority cases.

Surely such a statement in context would have disqualified her from sitting on a jury in any county in the land.

The context IS part of the problem. Sotomayor simply cannot be unbiased when it comes to cases involving minorities. She's repeated that "wise Latina" line numerous times over the years.

And, like Alberto Gonzalez, Sonia Sotomayor is a proud member of La Raza (NCLR).
