And despite the 2008 rhetoric that Obama was going to help the middle class, all he did was screw them over.
Tomorrow is a referendum on the Obama agenda vs. a conservative America.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2897076276412345124.post-6363897543352768792010-10-26T15:54:03.352-07:002010-10-26T15:54:03.352-07:00The most important election since Obama took offic...The most important election since Obama took office is in 9 days. He might lose the Senate Majority Leader to a Republican challenger who's run ads stating that he supports taxpayer money to be used for viagra for known sex offenders. And he's supposed to do what, exactly? Give Republicans back rubs? Tell Latino voters that the Republicans are their friends?

You're right, it's not leadership, it's politics.

Obama spent over a year being a leader and he was BURNED by the political machine that is the Republican party. So now, he's playing politics. Good for him. Bad for America. But the short-sightedness of the Republican party really left him with no other option. And it really is a shame. The last two years could have been so different. Instead, they've been about replacing hope and change with hate and fear. So great, the Republicans are making headway. We're a little more scared now. We're a little more angry, just like we were under Bush. Hope they're happy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2897076276412345124.post-44186592355504023552010-10-26T15:42:02.494-07:002010-10-26T15:42:02.494-07:00Actually, Obama was playing Chicago politics. Poke 'em in the eye to show them who's boss.
He didn't need to pick a fight over a legitimate problem with the legislation.
He continues to do that. In the last 24 hours he has told Republicans to "ride in the back seat" and made it clear to latino voters that the GOP is the "enemy."
That's not leadership.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2897076276412345124.post-77599647113164803862010-10-26T15:33:19.428-07:002010-10-26T15:33:19.428-07:00"Instead of honest debate, we have seen scare..."Instead of honest debate, we have seen scare tactics."

"Too many have used this as an opportunity to score short-term political points."

Until your post, I had forgotten the context of that outburst... As it turns out, Obama couldn't have been more spot-on. Joe Wilson turned a comment about short-term political gains into a short-term political gain based on fear and ignorance.

Your shortsighted cut-and-paste analysis of this issue is shameful. The Center for Immigration Studies reported that illegal immigrants pays over $16bil in taxes, while many don't qualify for Social Security or Medicare or college loans or any of the other social programs that Americans qualify for.

And you're whining about $4.3bil? You're whining about healthcare? You'd rather see someone die on the steps of a hospital than receive the help he needs just because that person isn't documented? Where is your Christian morality? What would Jesus do?

This country was founded by immigrants. This country is kept strong by immigrants. This country has a tradition of accepting and fostering immigrants. The fact that immigrants can come to this country to be free is exactly what makes this country so great. Albert Einstein. Joseph Pulitzer. Andrew Carnegie. Levi Strauss. Arnold Schwarzenegger. The list goes on.

Stop the ignorance. Stop the hatred. Stop the fear. Just work hard, and you'll be provided for. That's the American dream.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
